Today, oil resources are increasingly scarce, and silicone products have become the substitute for similar plastic products. The non-petroleum properties of silica gel, combined with superior material properties, can be applied to applications where many plastic products cannot be used, especially in biomaterials for medical devices. Silica gel has good biocompatibility, no irritation to human tissues, no toxicity, no allergic reaction, and minimal rejection of body. At present, the processing and production of silica gel has entered a mature application period. The commonly used vulcanization processing method for silica gel is shown in Figure 1. Generally, the vulcanization is divided into two processes. First, the cross-linking reaction of the polymer chain is carried out by one vulcanization; then the secondary vulcanization is carried out to supplement the cross-linking, repel the vulcanizing agent decomposition products and other volatile compounds to stabilize the properties of the vulcanizate. Commonly used equipment are open rubber mixers, kneaders and vacuum mixers.
