Reduce Roughness, Ensure Product Surface Finish, Silicone Product Mold Polishing Process is Indispensable

Every buyer wants a high quality product. Every consumer wants to buy high quality products. Every manufacturer wants their products to be recognized by the market and praised by consumers. For silicone products, silicone mold polishing is an important means to ensure product quality, and it is also a link that cannot be ignored. The unevenness of the surface and pit is a test of the appearance of the product and a factor in measuring the quality of the product.

The silicone mold is polished, that is, the mold is polished to make the surface, cavity and the like bright like a mirror. This process has become a mold grinding, there are two: one is to reduce the surface roughness of the mold, increase the smoothness, to ensure that the product is clean, beautiful, complete, beautiful; the second is to improve the convenience and effectiveness of the film release, as much as possible to prevent the rubber film Fall off and improve work efficiency.

The selection of the polishing process needs to be specifically analyzed according to the specific conditions within the enterprise, and the selection is preferred. As an old manufacturer of strong silicone products, Boco Silicone has listed the following common mold grinding methods:

The mechanical polishing process is based on the principle of cutting the surface of the material and plastically removing the protrusions or pits to obtain a smooth mold surface. Usually, oil stone strips, wool wheels, sandpaper, etc. are used, and manual operation is mainly used. For special parts such as the surface of a rotating body, an auxiliary tool such as a turntable can be used.

2, ultra-fine grinding and polishing, often used to grind product molds with high surface requirements. This polishing method uses a special grinding tool. In abrasive fluids containing abrasives, it is one of the most accurate methods of pressing a workpiece on a machined surface. After polishing, the surface of the mold can reach Ra0.008μm. .

3, magnetic grinding and polishing, the principle is to use a magnetic abrasive, under the action of a magnetic field to form a grinding brush, and then grind the workpiece, the surface roughness can be as low as Ra 0.1μm. The processing conditions of this method are relatively easy to control, so work efficiency is higher than other methods.

4, electrochemical polishing, the process is generally divided into two steps: (1) macroscopic leveling, the dissolution of the dissolved product in the electrolyte, the surface roughness of the material is reduced, Ra> 1μm; (2) low light leveling, the brightness of the anodic polarization surface is improved , Ra <1μm.

5, ultrasonic polishing process, using ultrasonic technology, and with it as the power, push the fine abrasive particles to impact the module surface at a very high speed, reducing the surface roughness.

6. Fluid polishing, relying on high-speed flowing liquid, is washed by the abrasive particles carried on the surface of the workpiece to achieve the purpose of polishing.

7. Electropolishing, relying on tiny protruding parts to selectively dissolve on the surface of the material to make the surface smooth, can eliminate the influence of the cathode reaction, and the effect is better.

For manufacturers, the degree of polishing of silicone molds depends on the quality requirements of the product. The choice of different processes is to achieve the same goal, namely to improve the production efficiency, quality and products of silicone products
